A trip to Japan in 80 points & images.

May 2012: Wil and I left for a crazy trip to Japan. Our thoughts were bubbling away at top speed, already imagining us at the bar of the Hyatt hotel, with Tokyo illuminated under our feet. After a dozen hours of flight and one hour of train: Shinjuku, the most frequented railway station in the world, in the middle of Tokyo, the biggest megalopolis of the planet! In the kingdom of superlatives, for us Europeans unusual is everywhere and Japanese are the kings. To answer your question "Why Japan?"  which was so often asked to us, we chose to reveal the "mystery" in 80 points & images*.
(*99% of the pictures were made during our trip, for the section"artists":photographs are taken from their websites).

Contrary to Amélie Nothomb, we are going to put aside the mind of the Japanese firm and try to make you share our tourist fancies. From the frenetic and organized life of the Japanese, we also retain behaviors which could have a big impact for the rest of the humanity ... Why?

And well because: a station employee who comes to search you in the waiting room at the arrival of the train, a driver who leaves his tram to give you a connection ticket, a hotel manager who drives you to the dock which is 300m farther and gives you a sign as far as the eye can see, Hiroshi who tells his life while eating, but without ever forgetting to lay the hand in front of his mouth… it is surrealist and touching
.

And then we also met taxi drivers who don't get from you 5 times the normal cab fare, deers
crossing on pedestrian crossings and monkeys warming themselves up in onsen. We could slake our thirst at the vending machines, which are everywhere and while enjoying the musical toilets. Yes, the most sophisticated and cleanest toilets in the world across the country, it's very convenient.

It is really tempting to reveal everything here, but to finish,
for those who would doubt about Japanese humor: When a pickpocket (fact extremely rare in this hyper-secure country) is located in a shopping centre, his presence is automatically signaled by the music of the pink panther. Welcome to a unique world.
