Nature in Japan (46-50)

Japan "lifestyle" > Japan +

Because cherries "color the nature of ephemeral beauty".

46/Onsen

Hot water bath from volcanic source.

The pinnacle of Japanese etiquette that we have experienced in Yudanaka the night under the stars, a great time.

47/ Japanese cherries

Contemplation of the ephemeral nature or ecstatic observation of details ... the first flower discovery is on TV news! While picnics are organized when they lose their petals, bohemian feeling guaranteed!

48/Garden and foam

The "Nihon Teien" or Japanese garden is a place of serenity where nature is idealized.
This is an important art from the ancient tradition.

The foam has an important place here, "it is not the scum of nature, it is the very essence".
For enthusiasts, the Temple of the foam is located in Kyoto. The Saiho-Ji is home to over 100 species. To visit it, you have to ask permission at least one month in advance, make a substantial offering to the temple & listen, kneeling, sutras for two hours ;-).

49/Paddy field

They occupy the major part of the farmland.

Every year, between July and August, farmers in the town of Inakadate located in Aomori Prefecture, northern Japan, transform rice to artwork by planting rice of different colors. The Tanbo Art (art of fields) reveals giant drawings that we can now find in a hundred different places across the country.

50/ Earthquakes and natural disasters

The legend says that Japan is perched on the back of a huge catfish that god Kashima tries to take in respect. Its convulsions cause earthquakes, fortunately rarely as devastating as the last known in 2011, which although well prepared the country was unable to cope… You will find everywhere all the instructions to follow in case of earthquake or tsunami, most every family has survival kit adapted from the youngest to the oldest!
According to the high number of these, we of course (during our stay of 3 weeks) experienced one and  were the only one apparently to feel discomfort, in fact the majority of buildings in Tokyo are built on cylinders specially designed for, we felt a bit like seasickness. About the same feeling as in villages on stilts in the sea. This was confirmed to us by a sign in the subway mentionning 45 seconds delay "Because earthquake!"
