Nara, the oldest capital of Japan promises great discoveries.
From the station, head for the deers park and let you tame. Here are the deers, "the gods’ messengers" everywhere in the temples and the city.
There are more than 1,000 deers in freedom, they evoke "a return to the primordial purity, when men and beasts lived close to each other," and we were really very close and personally it is part of the very important moments.
From there, you have the choice; you can go directly to the Todaiji Temple, the most famous shrines of Nara which houses the Great Buddha or make a tour through the other temples to finish by this one. My opinion: a detour through the string of temples is necessary ...
A day in Nara is really not too much. Do not hesitate to rent a bike to go around and stop at a terrace to enjoy the asukanabe: a stew of chicken with milk and miso!
Note: Japan also holds the world record with the Todaiji temple, it is the largest wooden building and the largest bronze sculpture (Buddha Vairocana).
