Ise (77)

Our tour

Every 20 years, the great Shinto shrine dedicated to goddess Amaterasu "which shines in the sky" is completely destroyed and rebuilt anew. Ultimate illustration of the belief on the transitory nature of things.
This is the most revered Shinto shrine in Japan.

This is where we met the princess walking ...
A few kilometers Futamiura
: 2 rocks in the sea, to see at sunrise! Married rocks represent Izanagi and Izanami, the gods who created Japan. These rocks are interconnected by a shimenawa, a rope in rice straw which delimits a sacred place.
Note: The path of Ise (伊 势 路)
+ or - 160 km, which connects to Ise Kumano Sanzan (熊 野 三 山) has been registered since 2004 as World Heritage by UNESCO.
A Japanese friend had recommended us that site, we were not disappointed!
